Spanish attacker Dani Olmo reveals that he remains "in talks" with RB Leipzig over the possibility of signing a new contract.

Spanish attacker Dani Olmo has revealed that he remains "in talks" with RB Leipzig over the possibility of signing a new contract with the Bundesliga outfit.

The 25-year-old's future is currently the subject of much speculation, as his contract with Leipzig is due to expire in the summer of 2024.

The German club are allegedly not prepared to let him enter the final year of his deal and will therefore sell him in the upcoming market unless he pens an extension.

Barcelona, Manchester United and Real Madrid are among the clubs said to be keeping a close eye on the forward's situation, and Olmo has now provided an update on his future.

"We are still in talks with RB Leipzig. In the next weeks we will know everything," Olmo, who could potentially be available for around €30m (£26.6m) this summer, told Sky Deutschland.

Olmo has had his injury problems during the 2022-23 campaign, but he has represented Leipzig on 29 occasions, scoring five goals and registering nine assists in the process.

The Spaniard played 87 minutes of Leipzig's 3-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday, which proved to be his 22nd league appearance of the campaign.

Olmo started his professional career with Dinamo Zagreb, where his form earned him a move to Leipzig, joining the German club in the summer of 2020.

The attacker has represented the Red Bulls on 121 occasions in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and registering 27 assists in the process, including 21 appearances in the Champions League.

Olmo is capable of operating in a number of different forward positions, featuring on the left, the right and through the middle at club level in recent weeks.

Man United are believed to view the Spaniard as the ideal addition in a summer when Anthony Martial could leave, and Wout Weghorst is set to return to parent club Burnley.

Real Madrid are said to view Olmo as a possible replacement for Marco Asensio, with the attacker only having a contract at Bernabeu until the end of June.

Barcelona, meanwhile, continue to be credited with an interest in the forward, who represented the Catalan outfit between 2007 and 2014 before leaving for Dinamo Zagreb.
