Man United 'want 23-year-old forward' who could arrive as part of a 'crazy three-way operation'

'Crazy three-way operation' - Man United 'eyeing surprise striker deal'

Manchester United are reportedly keen to recruit El Bilal Toure, with the 23-year-old potentially making the move to Old Trafford during this summer's transfer window as part of a 'crazy three-way operation'.

Toure is currently on loan at Stuttgart from Atalanta BC, and the German outfit have the option to sign him on a permanent basis during this summer's transfer window for a fee in the region of €18m (£15m).

According to FootMercato, Man United are keeping a close eye on the situation, and the Red Devils could approach Stuttgart with a €25m (£20.9m) offer in a bid to bring him to Old Trafford.

The Mali international started his professional career with Reims in France, scoring nine times and registering five assists in 68 appearances for the club in all competitions before moving to Almeria.

Toure made a positive impression during his time at Almeria, scoring seven times and registering two assists in 22 appearances, before joining Atalanta in July 2023, and he has managed three goals and one assist in 17 games for the Italian team.

Man United 'exploring summer deal for Toure'

The striker was again on the move last summer, joining Stuttgart on loan, with a buy option being included.

Toure has scored three times and registered one assist in 13 appearances for his current loan club, but he has been on the sidelines since the end of November with a fractured metatarsal.

The forward is believed to have been on Man United's radar for some time, and the Red Devils allegedly believe that he would be a smart signing during this summer's transfer window due to the relatively low transfer fee that would be involved.

Will Man United also move for Gyokeres this summer?

Man United are expected to sign another forward at the end of the campaign, as either Joshua Zirkzee or Rasmus Hojlund could be moved on this summer due to their struggles at Old Trafford.

Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres is believed to be the club's number one centre-forward target, with the Sweden international potentially being available for a fee in the region of £55m.

Gyokeres, Toure and Hojlund could potentially be Man United's forward options next term, with Zirkzee potentially returning to Serie A if he continues to struggle in the second half of the campaign.

The Red Devils are also working to boost their squad before the end of the January transfer window, with two new players potentially making the move to Old Trafford.

Patrick Dorgu's arrival from Lecce is set to be confirmed by the end of the weekend, while the club are hoping to sign a forward, with Bayern Munich's Mathys Tel appearing to be their leading target at this stage of proceedings.
