Chelsea and Manchester United will go head to head for the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, according to a report.

Chelsea and Manchester United will reportedly go head to head for the signature of Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal in this summer's transfer window.

Vidal joined Bayern from Juventus in 2015, and has helped the club win three straight Bundesliga titles during his time at the club.

The 31-year-old will see his current deal expire at the end of next season, however, and it is understood that Bayern are prepared to sell ahead of the 2018-19 campaign as part of a summer clear-out.

According to Bild, Premier League giants Chelsea and United both want to take the Chile international this summer, who could be available for £31m.

Vidal, who recently had surgery on a knee problem, scored six times and registered two assists in 35 appearances in all competitions during the 2017-18 season.
