Bayern Munich are not planning to move for Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo, according to a report.

Bayern Munich are reportedly not interested in signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer despite the recent speculation surrounding the Manchester United forward.

The 37-year-old was in impressive form for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring 24 goals and registering three assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.

Man United ended the season without a trophy, though, and finished the campaign in sixth spot in the Premier League table, which has left them without Champions League football for next term.

There has recently been speculation surrounding Ronaldo's future at Old Trafford, with the attacker said to be concerned by his side's lack of movement in the summer transfer market.

Bayern have been credited with an interest, with the Bundesliga champions potentially losing Robert Lewandowski this summer amid interest from Barcelona.

However, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk, the German giants are not planning a move for Ronaldo in the summer market.

The Portuguese is believed to be prepared to spend another season at Old Trafford but has urged the club to accelerate their attempts to sign new players this summer.

Barcelona's Frenkie de Jong remains a leading transfer target, but Man United are yet to meet the Catalan outfit's asking price for the Netherlands international.

Ronaldo has also allegedly given the Red Devils the green light to sign a new striker this summer, with Roma's Tammy Abraham believed to have admirers following his impressive campaign in Italian football.

Darwin Nunez was strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford earlier in the window, but the Uruguay international has completed a move to Liverpool from Benfica.

Meanwhile, another long-term target, Erling Braut Haaland, has left Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City, and Ronaldo is believed to be concerned that his side are being cut further adrift by the top two.

Ronaldo scored 18 Premier League goals for Man United during the 2021-22 campaign, but a disappointing season for the club saw them finish sixth, which will see them play in the Europa League next term.

The team's attack has been weakened by the departure of Edinson Cavani on a free transfer, while Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba have also left on free transfers.

Mason Greenwood is also still suspended by the club, and new head coach Erik ten Hag is said to be determined to sign at least one new attacker this summer, with Ajax's Antony said to be a leading target.

Man United are also interested in signing a new centre-back this summer, with Ajax's Lisandro Martinez and Villarreal's Pau Torres both believed to be leading targets for the club.

Meanwhile, another goalkeeper will arrive during this summer's transfer window if Dean Henderson departs, with the England international thought to be closing in on a switch to Nottingham Forest.
