Arsenal 'begin work on Ruben Neves transfer'

Arsenal begin work on a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly keen to bring Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves to the Emirates Stadium during this summer's transfer window.

The 24-year-old was again an important player for his English club during the 2020-21 campaign, contributing five goals and two assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

A recent report claimed that Wolves would be open to selling the Portugal international this summer, though, providing that they receive an offer in the region of £35m.

According to The Times, Arsenal have 'begun work' on a deal for the midfielder, who scored five times and registered one assist in 36 Premier League outings last term.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also recently been credited with an interest in Neves, who is currently with the Portugal squad preparing for this summer's European Championships.

Arsenal could potentially raise some of the funds required to sign the Wolves midfielder by selling Granit Xhaka to Italian giants Roma.
