LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena suggests that there is no truth in reports linking the club with moves for Manchester United duo Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Los Angeles Galaxy coach Bruce Arena has played down reports that the club are looking to sign Manchester United duo Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Rooney's form has been heavily criticised in recent seasons, prompting reports that the 31-year-old could look to leave Old Trafford, with the MLS and former club Everton touted as possible destinations.

The 35-year-old Ibrahimovic has also been tipped to become the latest player to see out his career in the United States, but Arena suggested that there is little truth in either rumour.

"Let me give you a little hint - maybe 90% of the things that you see in the papers are not accurate," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

Arena also revealed that he hopes Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane will stay in LA beyond the end of their contracts.
