Ossie Ardiles: 'Angel di Maria won't solve Manchester United's problems'

Former Argentina international Ossie Ardiles has warned Manchester United supporters that Angel di Maria will not be the answer to the club's problems.

The 26-year-old midfielder is reportedly close to sealing a £60m transfer to Old Trafford from Real Madrid.

Ardiles has tipped the Argentine to be a success in the Premier League.

"He can play in a lot of different positions. He can play right midfield, left midfield, he can play behind the two front players, behind one front player," Ardiles told talkSPORT.

"He is a very dangerous player, very quick, very creative and he can score goals, so he is going to be great for Manchester United. However, I don't think he is going to solve all of the problems that Man United have at the moment."

The Red Devils, who have not won a league game so far this season, drew 1-1 at Sunderland on Sunday.
