Casemiro could reportedly see out the remainder of his career at Manchester United, having proved himself to Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim.

Casemiro could reportedly see out the remainder of his career at Manchester United, with Red Devils head coach Ruben Amorim viewing the midfielder as vital when it comes to his plans to rebuild the team.

The 33-year-old was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford last summer and again in January, with the Brazilian struggling for minutes in the early stages of Amorim's time as manager.

However, Casemiro's recent form in the Europa League has been strong, playing a vital role in Man United reaching the final, and according to The Sun, it is now possible that the midfielder could see out his career at Old Trafford.

The report claims that Amorim 'has been working closely' with Casemiro, as he is viewed as an important player in the dressing room, while his experience could help the club in its bid to return to former glories.

The midfielder has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2026, with the option of an additional year, and he is the highest-paid player at the club, collecting in the region of £400,000 a week.

Casemiro 'could retire at Man United'

Should Man United qualify for the 2025-26 Champions League, it is understood that Casemiro's salary will rise to £500,000 a week, as there is said to be a 25% pay rise included in his contract if the team are playing top-level European action.

Casemiro was on the scoresheet in his side's 4-1 success over Athletic Bilbao in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday night, which secured a 7-1 aggregate win for the 20-time English champions.

Man United will now take on Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Europa League on May 21, with the winner securing a major trophy and also claiming a position in the league stage of the 2025-26 Champions League.

Saudi Pro League clubs 'are keen' on Casemiro

There is thought to be serious interest from the Saudi Pro League in Casemiro, and a number of clubs would have been impressed by his performances of late, particularly in the Europa League.

It will be interesting to see whether any offers are presented for Casemiro this summer, and the club may have a difficult decision to make, as removing a £500,000-a-week salary from their wage budget would be incredibly beneficial from a financial point of view.

Casemiro made the move to Man United from Real Madrid in in the summer of 2022, and he has represented the Red Devils on 122 occasions in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and registering 12 assists in the process.

The midfielder has had a glorious career at the top level, famously winning five Champions League trophies during his time at Real Madrid, and he will be remembered as one of the best central midfielders in the modern game.
