Man United receiving 'weekly updates' on two striker targets ahead of summer window

Amorim's attackers? Man Utd receiving 'weekly updates' on world-class strikers

Manchester United are reportedly set to sign a striker this summer, with Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen potential arrivals.

The Red Devils were hurtling towards another sobering defeat in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, falling two goals behind at Goodison Park versus Everton.

However, a second-half fightback rescued a point for Man United, with both captain Bruno Fernandes and summer arrival Manuel Ugarte finding the net.

Despite a point on Merseyside last time out, the Red Devils remain in a lowly 15th place in the Premier League standings, 14 points behind the top four.

Ruben Amorim's troops will be expecting to collect a much-needed maximum on Wednesday night, when Ipswich Town visit the Theatre of Dreams.

Man United receiving weekly updates on Osimhen and Gyokeres?

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are spinning plenty of plates as they look to improve their squad ahead of next season.

The report claims that the Red Devils will be in the market for a new central striker in the summer, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to impress.

It is understood that Man United are currently the recipients of weekly updates regarding the availability of Sporting Lisbon marksman Gyokeres and Nigeria international Osimhen.

While Amorim's side are interested in the pair, it is believed that United could be unable to complete moves for the talented strikers due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The Red Devils are supposedly walking a financial tightrope and need to be mindful of their spending habits during the upcoming summer window.

Osimhen, Gyokeres represent major upgrades

After a transfer saga last summer, Osimhen eventually secured a loan switch to Galatasaray, where has he bagged 20 goals in 25 appearances.

With the Nigerian's talents rather obvious, reports of Man United sending scouts to watch the striker in real life are said to be wide of the mark.

A former Championship stalwart, Gyokeres is now ripping up the top-flight scene for Sporting Lisbon, scoring on 23 occasions across 22 Primeira Liga battles.
