Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Seeking a fifth successive win at Old Trafford in all competitions, Manchester United host Southampton in Sunday afternoon's Premier League contest.

The less said about the Red Devils' last Premier League game the better, as they were embarrassed 7-0 by bitter rivals Liverpool - matching their worst-ever defeat of all time.

However, Man United remain out of sight in third place in the table, and they got back on track immediately with a 4-1 thumping of Real Betis in Thursday's Europa League last-16 first leg.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the showdown with the 19th-placed Saints, who beat Leicester City 1-0 to move off the bottom last weekend.

Anthony Martial

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: March 19 (vs. Fulham)

Anthony Martial missed a 10th game in a row on Thursday night with his lingering hip problem, and while he is now being put through his paces in training, Sunday's game is expected to come too soon for him.

Christian Eriksen

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: April 29 (vs. Aston Villa)

Christian Eriksen sustained a serious injury during the Red Devils' FA Cup win over Reading in January, and the Dane is unlikely to be back in action before the end of April.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Donny van de Beek's hopes of igniting his Man United career this season were extinguished when he suffered a campaign-ending knee injury against Bournemouth in early January, and he remains on the long road to recovery.

Marcel Sabitzer

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: March 12 (vs. Southampton)

Marcel Sabitzer was unable to play a part in Thursday's win over Betis due to a knock, and the Bayern Munich loanee will need a once-over before any decision is made on his availability for Sunday.

Manchester United have no players suspended for this match.
