Antony is named in the starting XI for Manchester United's Premier League clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

Antony has been named in the starting XI for Manchester United's Premier League clash with Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Brazil international became the club's second-most expensive signing of all time when he joined in an £85.5m deal from Ajax on transfer deadline day.

Antony has only had two full training sessions with Man United, but he has gone straight into the starting side for the game against Premier League leaders Arsenal in Manchester.

The 22-year-old will seemingly line up on the right of a front three, with Marcus Rashford operating through the middle, and Jadon Sancho moving across to the left.

Anthony Elanga is the player to make way for Antony, but it is otherwise the same XI that started against Leicester City on Thursday night.

As a result, Casemiro is being made to wait for his full Red Devils debut, with the Brazilian's two outings for the club coming off the bench.

Scott McTominay retains his spot alongside Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes in the middle, while there are no surprises at the back, with Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malacia lining up as the defensive four once again.

Harry Maguire is again on the bench, and he is joined by Luke Shaw, who was not available against Leicester last time out due to a minor injury.

There had been suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo would come in for just his second start of the 2022-23 Premier League campaign, but the Portuguese is again among the substitutes.

Anthony Martial is still missing with an Achilles problem, while there is no Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the squad, with the right-back unavailable due to a minor issue; Donny van de Beek is also missing through injury.

There are two goalkeepers on the bench for the 20-time English champions, including Martin Dubravka, who joined the club on transfer deadline day from Newcastle United.

Victor Lindelof has also overcome his early-season injury problems and makes the bench, while Fred is also available for selection should Man United boss Erik ten Hag wish to use him at some stage of the match.

The Red Devils have won their last three Premier League matches against Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester to rise up the table after back-to-back losses.

However, the hosts are taking on an Arsenal side boasting a 100% record from their five fixtures this term.
