Premier League 2015-16 in numbers: Week 8

Premier League in numbers: Week 8

Crystal Palace 2-0 West Bromwich Albion

Palace winger Yannick Bolasie scored his first league goal at Selhurst Park since New Year's Day 2013 - dating back 1,005 days.

The Eagles have not had this many points (16) after eight games since the 1990-91 season.

As for West Brom, they have won just two of their previous 11 meetings with the South London club.

Aston Villa 0-1 Stoke City

Match-winner Marko Arnautovic has scored seven Premier League goals for Stoke, five of which have come away from the Britannia Stadium.

The Potters have lost on just one of their eight visits to Villa Park in the Premier League.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood has now lost 19 games as a Premier League manager - the same number of matches that he has won.

Bournemouth 1-1 Watford

Glenn Murray's goal for Bournemouth was the first that Watford have conceded in the first half of a match this season.

The striker has now scored eight goals in his last 21 Premier League appearances for the Cherries and Palace.

Watford frontman Odion Ighalo has found the net 21 times in his 26 outings in 2015, which is more than any other player in England's top four divisions.

Manchester City 6-1 Newcastle United

Sergio Aguero's five goals for Man City all came within the space of 20 minutes, which is a Premier League record.

The Argentine is the fifth player to score that many goals in one game after Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov.

Meanwhile, the Magpies are without a victory in their last 18 Premier League meetings with the Citizens.

Norwich City 1-2 Leicester City

Visiting Leicester have been awarded four penalties this term, which is more than any other Premier League team.

Only Man City (12) can better Leicester's return of 11 victories in the top flight since the beginning of April.

The Canaries have scored and conceded exactly the same amount of goals at home as they have away this term - six and seven respectively.

Sunderland 2-2 West Ham United

Sunderland's wait for a victory over West Ham in the Premier League has now stretched back to seven meetings.

The match proved to be the last in charge of the Black Cats for Dick Advocaat, who announced his resignation 24 hours after the final whistle.

Of the 14 points that West Ham have collected this season, 10 have been won on the road.

Chelsea 1-3 Southampton

Chelsea have conceded 17 Premier League goals this term, which is two more than they let in during the entire 2004-05 title-winning campaign.

The Blues have shipped at least two goals in seven of their eight outings this season.

The victory was Southampton's first at Stamford Bridge since a James Beattie brace helped to secure a 4-2 win in January 2002.

Everton 1-1 Liverpool

The match was the last in charge of Liverpool for Brendan Rodgers, who has departed the Reds with a win percentage of 55.3% - only Rafael Benitez had a better record at Anfield in the Premier League.

Liverpool's last eight goals in all competitions have been scored by English players.

The last four Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park have all ended in draws.

Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United

There was only 74 seconds between Alexis Sanchez's opening goal for Arsenal and Mesut Ozil's second strike.

The win ended a run for the Gunners in the Premier League of eight matches without a victory against the Red Devils.

Man United conceded three goals in the opening 20 minutes of a Premier League game for the first time.

Swansea City 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur

The draw ended a run of seven straight defeats for the Swans against their North London counterparts.

Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen has scored six direct free kicks since his arrival from Ajax in 2013 - no Premier League player has scored more during that time.

Since being defeated on the opening day of the season away at Man United, Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League.
