Ashley Young calls for focus

Manchester United wing-back Ashley Young calls on his side to continue their strong run of form.

Ashley Young has called on Manchester United to continue their unbeaten run when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Following Friday's 3-1 win over Newcastle United, the Red Devils have now won seven of their last eight league matches, with that run of form leaving the club in third spot in the Premier League.

Young, however, has insisted that his side cannot afford to rest on their laurels in the weeks ahead.

"It's a busy period that we're entering, so it's important to be getting wins – especially at home, but on the road as well. We know we've got tough games coming up so, fingers crossed, we can keep up this momentum and the hard work," he told MUTV.

"Especially with having Christmas Day off, it was vitally important to get the three points. We have tough away games coming up now and we've got to make sure that we're prepared in the right way – and I'm sure we'll be able to get the three points if we are."

Young has been deployed as a wing-back this season, despite spending the majority of his career as a wide attacker.
