Ed Woodward still plans to stand down from his role as Manchester United's executive vice-chairman in April, according to a report.

Ed Woodward is reportedly still planning to stand down from his role as Manchester United's executive vice-chairman in April.

The 50-year-old is believed to have recruited Ralf Rangnick as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the German set to become Man United's interim manager for the remainder of the season.

A recent report claimed that Woodward could delay his exit from the club until a permanent manager has been appointed, with Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino regarded as the favourite for the role.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the Englishman will leave his position at the club in April, with managing director Richard Arnold in line to replace him.

The report claims that Woodward is expected to be offered a consultancy role at Old Trafford, as Man United are keen to ensure that his experience can be used in the future.

The former investment banker, who is thought to have a close relationship with Man United co-owner Joel Glazer, has been in his current position since 2012.
