Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has revealed that he has already learned much from having Robin van Persie as a teammate.
Van Persie joined United from Premier League rivals Arsenal during the summer and his presence has resulted in Welbeck having to settle for long spells among the substitutes.
However, despite not starting on a regular basis as a result of Van Persie's arrival, Welbeck has admitted that he is a beneficiary of Van Persie's form so far this season.
"It's a great motivation to see somebody with so much class come into the side and score goals. But it's not just his goals that have been pleasing - it's the way he's played all round and the assists he's got," Welbeck told reporters.
"Robin's a world-class striker and that's of great benefit to me, as I can watch him week in and week out. He's someone I can look up to.
"He's a different type of striker to what we've previously had at the club. You can look at his qualities and the things you can take into your own game. I'll keep watching him so I can take a leaf out of his book in some areas."
Van Persie has scored 13 goals in all competitions for United this season, while Welbeck has found the net just once.
