Nemanja Vidic out to silence doubters

Nemanja Vidic says that Manchester United want to prove their critics wrong by retaining their Premier League crown this season.

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has expressed his desire to prove the doubters wrong and retain their Premier League title this season.

Although they won the league by an 11-point margin in the last campaign, many have tipped Jose Mourinho's Chelsea or Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City to lift the crown this year.

Despite losing former boss Sir Alex Ferguson to retirement in the summer, Vidic feels that United can grow even stronger under new head coach David Moyes.

"We won the Premier League last season, but I can still hear people asking 'are we good enough?' People are still questioning this team," Vidic told The Sun.

"It seems like we have to prove something again. Well, it is up to us to do that. We have nothing against that, we just have to work hard and show that we are good enough.

"I am looking forward to this season and I think we will be better than last season."
