Van Persie admits struggles

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has admitted that he is not happy with his goal return this season.

The Dutchman has netted eight times in 21 league games this term, while his fellow strikers at Old Trafford have also struggled for consistency in the final third.

Van Persie has conceded that the season has not been good enough thus far, but is confident that he will return to top form in the coming months.

"I think everyone in the team is responsible. Everyone feels responsible. I do, definitely," he told reporters.

"This year I've played something like 20 games and I've scored eight goals. I'm not happy with that. I want to score more. I'll do everything, every day in training and during the games I'll keep doing what I've been doing for the last 10 years to make those goals.

"We're not scoring enough goals, including me. I have to be honest. I'll do everything I can to improve that."

Van Persie has also recently admitted that he is unsure whether he will sign a new deal at Old Trafford. His current contract, which he signed in the summer of 2012 upon joining from Arsenal, expires in the summer of 2016.
