Louis van Gaal ready to start Manchester United reign immediately

Following the Netherlands' third-place playoff victory, Louis van Gaal says that he is ready to take the reigns at Manchester United immediately.

New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has said that he is ready to begin his reign at Old Trafford immediately.

The 62-year-old led the Netherlands to third place at the 2014 World Cup courtesy of a 3-0 victory against Brazil last night.

Following his side's triumph, Van Gaal has said that there is no need to take a few days off before beginning his new role in England.

"That is no problem for me, I don't need a holiday," van Gaal is quoted as saying by thesportreview.com. "It's great to have such an exciting challenge.

"To work daily with young people is something that I don't need time off to rest for.

"I'm looking forward to it. I've only met two people from the daily management at the club – the chief scout and the chief executive officer. And I've met two of the owners. It's time that I get to know more people at the club."

Van Gaal has previously managed Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
