United 'keen to reopen De Gea talks'

Manchester United are reportedly desperate to reopen contract talks with David de Gea.

De Gea has less than 18 months left to run on his existing contract, but United are determined to sign the Spain international to a new long-term deal as soon as possible.

Last month, the club's goalkeeping coach Emilio Alvarez dropped a hint over De Gea's future, but it is thought that the stopper's wage demands are still an issue.

According to The Sun, the 20-time English champions 'want to break the deadlock' when it comes to De Gea's new contract, which could end up costing the club in the region of £350,000 a week.

The 28-year-old has made 351 appearances for United in all competitions since moving to Old Trafford from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011.
