Stars named for Paul Scholes testimonial

Fabio Cannavaro and Patrick Vieira are among the names to appear for New York Cosmos against Manchester United in Paul Scholes's testimonial.

The resurrected franchise will face Manchester United on August 5.

The Red Devils are expected to name a side which includes Scholes's former teammates Gary Neville and Nicky Butt.

The Cosmos, who have former United striker Eric Cantona as their director of soccer, will also feature Sol Campbell, Robbie Keane and Brad Friedel.

Scholes retired over the summer after 18 years at Old Trafford, where he won ten Premier League titles. He will remain at the club in a coaching role.
