Scholes: 'I wouldn't enjoy playing in LVG's team'

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has admitted that he would not have enjoyed playing under current manager Louis van Gaal.

The Red Devils suffered a shock defeat to Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday as they were beaten 3-1 on penalties.

In the Premier League United are fourth in the table, just two points behind leaders Manchester City, but they have scored 15 league goals, the fewest of the top four.

"It's a team now you wouldn't want to play against because they're tightly organised, but it seems [Van Gaal] doesn't want players to beat men and it's probably not a team I'd have enjoyed playing in," Scholes told BBC Radio Manchester.

United will play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
