Wayne Rooney out of England squad

Wayne Rooney has become the latest player to pull out of the England squad to face Holland on Wednesday evening.

The Manchester United striker is struggling with a throat infection that has ruled him out of his club's last two matches.

Rooney's teammate Tom Cleverley has also been forced to withdraw with an ankle injury.

The United duo have joined Aston Villa centre-forward Darren Bent, who opted out of Stuart Pearce's squad with a foot injury yesterday afternoon.
