Arjen Robben: 'Memphis Depay can lead Manchester United to title'

Arjen Robben is confident that Memphis Depay can lead Manchester United to the Premier League title this season.

Arjen Robben has insisted that Memphis Depay has all of the tools required to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title this season.

United's summer signing produced a memorable two-goal performance in the victory over Club Brugge at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, and Robben is confident that his fellow Dutchman will fulfil his potential with help from Louis van Gaal.

"He can become one of the top players in the world at Manchester United," the Bayern Munich winger is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"He is already at such a high level, but playing at one of the biggest clubs in the world he will get even better. Manchester United will want to get back to winning trophies, and he will be a big part of that.

"Memphis can become the complete player under [Van Gaal's] guidance. It will not be easy, it never is when there are so many new players to settle him, but I think Louis could win the league with Manchester United this year."

United spent £25m to sign the 21-year-old from PSV Eindhoven in June.
