A report claims that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba regrets ever returning to the club as he has become disillusioned with life under Jose Mourinho.

Paul Pogba has reportedly grown so unhappy with life working under Jose Mourinho that he has told close friends he regrets ever returning to Manchester United.

The France international has been criticised for recent performances in a deeper and more central midfield role than he has previously been accustomed to, failing to complete the full 90 minutes in any of his side's last three matches.

Pogba was seen exchanging words with Mourinho before being hauled off the field in the 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur last month, and he is said to have made clear to the Portuguese that he sees himself playing in a more advanced position.

Now, according to French newspaper L'Equipe, the 24-year-old has confided in those close to him that he regrets agreeing to swap Juventus for the Red Devils in 2016 after a serious breakdown in his relationship with Mourinho.

United's only win in their last three Premier League outings came at home to Huddersfield Town - a match that Pogba sat out the opening 65 minutes of.
