'Moyes Out' banner 'to be flown over Old Trafford this weekend'

Disgruntled Manchester United fans claim to have hired a plane to fly an anti-David Moyes banner over Old Trafford this weekend.

Manchester United boss David Moyes could face a "fly-by protest" at Old Trafford this weekend, as a group of disgruntled fans claims to have hired a plane to pass over the ground with a banner demanding his sacking in tow.

The group have apparently shelled out £840 for the aircraft to fly over the stadium ahead of the Red Devils' clash with Aston Villa, bearing the message "Wrong One - Moyes Out".

The campaign was organised by members of the Red Issue forum, who are also season-ticket holders at Old Trafford, and intends to make a mockery of the 'Chosen One' banner unfurled at United's home games in Moyes's honour.

"It was an idea put forward by a member of the Red Issue forum, because we have had enough of the 'Chosen One' banner. We set up a PayPal account on the forum and we raised nearly £1,000," The Mirror quotes a spokesperson from the campaign as saying.

"The forum is made up of hardcore fans and I would say 90% of them have had enough of David Moyes. It's not just the results, it's the excuses and the way we are playing.

"We don't care that Sir Alex Ferguson says we should get behind him and we want people to know that not every single fan is behind David Moyes."

Moyes is presiding over what could end up being United's worst Premier League campaign, with the club lying in seventh place in the table ahead of the Villa match.
