Jose Mourinho reveals tour plans for England trio

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho reveals that Chris Smalling, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney will all travel to China later this month, but will not feature.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that Chris Smalling, Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney will all travel to China later this month, but the trio will not feature.

Smalling, Rashford and Rooney were all part of the England squad that reached the last-16 stage of Euro 2016 and all three have been given time off ahead of the start of pre-season.

Mourinho has confirmed that they will travel to China for the first leg of Man United's pre-season tour, but the Portuguese has no plans to use the Englishmen.

"I'll take them but I'm not going to play them," Mourinho told MUTV.

The Red Devils, who start their preparations for the new season against Wigan Athletic on July 16, will head to China to face Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on July 22, before taking on rivals Manchester City on July 25 in Beijing.
