Man United's Jose Mourinho: 'Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pep Guardiola are not enemies'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho insists that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola are "not enemies".

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Pep Guardiola are "not enemies", despite the pair's falling out.

Ibrahimovic criticised Guardiola in his autobiography after playing under the Spaniard for two years at Barcelona.

The duo will come face to face this afternoon when United take on Guardiola's Manchester City at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Mourinho has played down any talk of a rift, though, claiming that Ibrahimovic will not taunt his former boss if he scores in the derby.

"I never read Zlatan saying Guardiola is a bad manager," Mourinho told reporters. "It is normal between managers and players you have more connections with some than others, but that doesn't mean you hate each other.

"I read something that Eden [Hazard] is in love with Antonio [Conte] and was not in love with me. But he's not my enemy - it's feeling, that's fine, it's his feeling. I'm fine. I'm happy for him. So Zlatan didn't have the best period of his career [at Barcelona] but that's fine.

"They are not enemies, we are not expecting Zlatan to score a goal, run to Pep, sliding on his knees - that's not going to happen."

Ibrahimovic has scored three league goals for United so far this season.
