Paddy McNair has described his elevation into the Manchester United first team as "crazy".
The 19-year-old centre-back made just 11 appearances for the club's Under-21 side last season, but injuries to the likes of Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo have seen manager Louis van Gaal call on McNair four times in the Premier League this term.
When asked about the recent acceleration of his career, the Northern Irishman told MUTV: "It's been a crazy couple of months. I was playing with the Under-21s two months ago, then all of a sudden I'm playing in front of 75,000 people at Old Trafford.
"It has happened so fast. Last year I think I played 11 games for the Under-21s so hopefully I'll be close to 11 for the first team by the end of the season."
McNair signed on at Old Trafford as a trainee in 2011.
