Nemanja Matic: 'Paul Pogba can be better'

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic insists that Paul Pogba can still improve as a player after scoring twice during his side's win over Huddersfield.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has insisted that Paul Pogba can still improve as a player.

Pogba was left out of the starting lineup during Jose Mourinho's final days in charge of United, but he has provided two assists and two goals since Mourinho's departure last week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now won two games from two in interim charge, but Matic believes that he still has more to offer during the second half of the season.

"He's very important for us. When he plays at his best, he can make the difference in every game. He played very well today, but I think that he can do even more," Pogba told reporters.

"Slowly, game by game. Today was very important for him to score some goals. His confidence for the next game is going to be bigger and he needs to know that he still can improve.

"He needs to know he's very important for this team. His quality can make the difference and I hope he will continue like this."

United are next in action against Bournemouth on Sunday.
