Manchester United are reportedly set to appoint a second director of football as part of the club's restructure this summer.

Manchester United are reportedly set to appoint a second director of football as part of the club's restructure this summer.

The first significant change at Old Trafford will be the arrival of head coach Erik ten Hag, who was announced as Ralf Rangnick's successor in April.

Meanwhile, chief executive Ed Woodward, chief scout Jim Lawlor, head of global scouting Marcel Bout and transfer executive Matt Judge have all left the club, the latter of whom resigned from his role at the end of last month.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Untied are planning to appoint a second director of football to work alongside current chief John Murtough, who was appointed to his role in March.

The report adds that chief executive Richard Arnold believes 'significant changes' in 'a number of departments' are required at the club ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

While United are set to be active in this summer's transfer market, Ajax assistant coach Mitchell van der Gaag is allegedly edging closer to joining Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
