Manchester United announce that they will also take on Real Betis during their winter training camp in Spain next month.

Manchester United have announced that they will also take on Real Betis during their winter training camp in Spain.

Earlier this week, the 20-time English champions revealed that they would face Cadiz during the week-long camp, which will take place during the 2022 World Cup.

Man United's match against Cadiz has been scheduled for December 7, while they will take on Real Betis three days later at Estadio Benito Villamarin in Seville.

The Red Devils will have a number of players away at the competition in Qatar, but those not involved will take part in the winter camp, as the team prepare for the return of competitive action.

Man United are currently in Spain preparing for Thursday's Europa League contest with Real Sociedad, which will determine whether they automatically qualify for the knockout round of the competition.

The team will then take on Aston Villa twice in the Premier League and EFL Cup respectively before travelling to Fulham on November 13 for their final match before the campaign is halted.

The Red Devils will then not be back in action until December 27, with Nottingham Forest making the trip to Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Man United will end the year with a trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, while their first match of 2023 will take place at home to Bournemouth on January 3.

"We're pleased to have lined up another match against high-quality local opposition during our stay in southern Spain," the club's football director John Murtough said in a statement.

"These matches will help ensure that our whole squad is prepared for the resumption of club football after the World Cup, as we look to maintain our positive momentum into the second half of the season.

"The week-long training camp and matches against Cadiz CF and Real Betis Balompie will also provide an opportunity for some of our younger players to experience what it is like to train within a first-team environment, as well as play against two competitive La Liga sides."

Man United head coach Erik ten Hag has also set out his plans for the break, telling the club's official website: "We will train here [at Carrington] for one week, or eight or nine days, and then we will have a short break. Then we will train and go to Spain for a training camp for one week.

"There, we can train proper. We have good opponents over there so we can get the game practice in as well. Then we will return, ready for the second stage of the season, I would say, but a long stage, longer than usual."

Man United will enter Thursday's European contest against Real Sociedad off the back of a 1-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League.
