Matt Le Tissier: 'Robin van Persie showing signs of decline'

Matt Le Tissier feels that Robin van Persie is showing signs of decline for Manchester United this season due to some lacklustre performances for the Red Devils.

Matt Le Tissier believes that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is starting to show signs of decline.

The 31-year-old has struggled to find his best form this season for the Red Devils, and was replaced with eight minutes to play against Manchester City, despite his side being a goal down at the Etihad Stadium.

Le Tissier told Sky Sports News: "It is a bit of a struggle for Van Persie. I am not sure he is not feeling uncomfortable at the amount of great talent that is around him.

"He always seemed to thrive when he was the main man. At the moment he is nowhere near that. He is not finding his form and maybe he might be at that point in his career where he has gone just past his best and he is on his way down a little bit.

"It gets highlighted when you are playing in such a high-profile team. If you are not doing it, you should come in for some stick."

Van Persie has scored three goals in the Premier League this season for Louis van Gaal's side.
