Ander Herrera: 'I needed to improve on my goalscoring'

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera insists that he knew that he had to improve on his goalscoring following his match-winning performance against Aston Villa.

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed that he knew that he had to deliver more goals for the club following his inspirational display against Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Herrera grabbed a brace in United's 3-1 victory over Tim Sherwood's side at Old Trafford, with the game also featuring a memorable strike from Wayne Rooney.

"Scoring goals was one of the things that I had to improve on. I'm getting better but have to improve still," said Herrera, according to BBC Sport.

"The battle for the top four is going to be very tough but we are on the right road. We are in very good form but have to play seven more games and have to fight a lot."

United currently hold third position in the league standings with 62 points from 31 games so far this season.
