Ryan Giggs says that he is planning on playing for at least one more season for Manchester United.

Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has said that he plans to continue playing for at least another season.

Giggs, who has played in a club-record 897 matches, also revealed that he intends to discuss a new deal shortly.

The former Wales international turns 39 this year and has stated that he will continue to play as long as he has an influence on the pitch.

When asked if it was his intention to carry on playing after the season ends, Giggs said: "Yeah, it is at the moment.

"We'll sit down pretty soon and see what we want to do but, at the moment, I feel good and I want to carry on."

Asked about the prospect of playing into his forties, he added: "Now that one's a question! You can't see it but we'll see. When that changes [having an influence on the pitch], then that's when I'll want to stop. But I feel like I'm still an influence on and off the pitch so I'll carry on."

Giggs made his debut for United in March 1991.
