Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Wayne Rooney is "doing very well" as he recovers from a leg injury.
The striker was ruled out for up to a month after he received a gash to his leg during United's win over Fulham two weeks ago.
"Wayne's doing very well," Ferguson told the club's official website.
"The scar's healed well and he's training terrifically, though he's not back in football training yet. All his work is being done with the physios at this point in time.
"The issue now is when do we decide to bring him into the game? We have to take the medical advice on that one."
Rooney scored 35 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils last season.
