Sir Alex Ferguson pleased with "aggressive" Manchester United

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admits that his side were much better in the second half as they beat Wigan Athletic 4-0 on Saturday.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that his side were much better in the second half as they beat Wigan Athletic 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Despite Javier Hernandez missing a penalty for the hosts in an unconvincing first half, they ran riot after the break as debutants Alexander Buttner and Nick Powell both got on the scoresheet.

"We had to start all over again after the missed penalty," Ferguson told BBC Sport. "They slowed the game down a lot, but we weren't playing at the speed we play at. The second half we did after becoming more aggressive and played some penetrating football.

"Wigan play a a system which is difficult to play against. It is a good result."

Next up for United is the visit of Turkish side Galatasaray in the Champions League on Wednesday.
