Alex Ferguson: 'No truth in Glazer allegations'

Sir Alex Ferguson says that he is 'insulted' by allegations that he backed the Glazer family for his own personal gain.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he feels 'insulted' by accusations that he has praised the Glazer family for his own personal gain.

The 70-year-old recently defended the American family after hoards of United fans criticised the billionaires for filling the club with debt since their takeover in 2005.

Some suggested that the Scot publicly supported the Glazers in order to profit from the owners' decision to put the club up in an initial public offering (IPO).

When questioned on these allegations, Ferguson responded: "There is not a single grain of truth in this allegation. This is an accusation that insults me."

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are expected to welcome back defender Nemanja Vidic to his side this weekend following eight months on the sidelines with a knee injury.
