Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has urged fans not to chant about the Hillsborough disaster during Saturday's game at rivals Liverpool.
Red Devils supporters have, in the past, chanted about the 1989 disaster which killed 96 Liverpool fans.
Ferguson also spoke of the importance of the game at Anfield.
"I always consider this to be the game of the season in English football," he said.
"We need each other. Respect should be adhered to. Shouts of Hillsborough don't do either club any good."
United currently top the Premier League with 19 points from seven games while Kenny Dalglish's side are six points adrift in fifth.
