Rio Ferdinand has welcomed youngster Nick Powell to Manchester United.
The 18-year-old has agreed to join the Red Devils on a four-year deal from League One side Crewe Alexandra.
Having heard the news, United centre-back Ferdinand described the attacking midfielder as "a quality young player".
"Welcome to Man Utd to Nick Powell," Ferdinand wrote on Twitter. "A quality young player with a bright future at our club! Good luck!"
Powell will complete his move to Old Trafford on July 1.
