Rio Ferdinand: 'No excuses for Newcastle defeat'

Rio Ferdinand believes that Manchester United need to accept that they were not good enough against Newcastle United last night.

The Premier League champions suffered a surprise 3-0 defeat to Alan Pardew's side at the Sports Direct Arena.

"Poor performance from us all yesterday," Ferdinand wrote on Twitter. "No excuses. Will be looking to make amends sunday."

Sir Alex Ferguson's side, who have lost their last two league matches, face North West rivals Manchester City in the third round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
