David de Gea 'ordered to return to Manchester United for pre-season training'

De Gea 'ordered by Man Utd to return'

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly ordered David de Gea to return to the club next week for pre-season training, despite the goalkeeper being heavily linked to Real Madrid.

The Premier League giants are believed to have rejected a £15m bid from Madrid for the shot-stopper, who is reportedly keen to return to his homeland.

Despite De Gea's intentions, Van Gaal has told the 24-year-old that he expects him to be at pre-season training next Monday, according to the Daily Star.

It is believed that the goalkeeper has already bid farewell to his teammates, but depending on negotiations between the two clubs, De Gea could be part of the Red Devils' tour in the United States.

The former Atletico Madrid player has one year remaining on his current contract at Old Trafford.
