Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has said that he is pleased with the club's form in cup competitions this season.
Despite struggling in the league, the Reds finished top of their group in the Champions League and face Sunderland in the semi-finals of the League Cup.
"The progress in the cup is as good as we could have hoped for at this stage," Carrick told the club's official website. "So that's going well.
"It's just the league form where we need that consistency really. But we know what we're good at and we'll get back to doing those things and climb the table."
