New Manchester United signing Daley Blind has described manager Louis van Gaal's honest approach as "frightening".
The 24-year-old, who signed for the Red Devils from Ajax in the summer for a reported £14m fee, made his debut in United's 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
Van Gaal has been known for his strict approach to coaching, but Blind believes that it will make him a better player.
"He is very honest to everybody, he knows what he wants and he knows his philosophy," Blind told the club's official website. "He can bring that to the players and he can make a team with everybody in.
"That is a good start for everybody, if you want to work for each other. I have really learned a lot from Van Gaal and I like working under him. He is not frightening, he is just honest. That can be frightening, but I like it."
United's win at Old Trafford on Sunday was their first competitive triumph under Van Gaal.
