Wednesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'want Hoffenheim's Christoph Baumgartner'
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Christoph Baumgartner.
The 21-year-old has been hailed as one of Austria's brightest talents in years and his impressive performances in the Bundesliga have attracted a great deal of attention from several top clubs across Europe.
Baumgartner only made his senior debut for the German side in May 2019, however The Sun reports that United have been tracking the midfielder closely with a view to bringing him to Old Trafford in the summer.
The youngster has a contract which expires in June 2023 and his current price tag is believed to be around £16m, although that figure is expected to rise.
Hoffenheim have a history of getting good value for money on player sales such as the £29m they received for Liverpool's Roberto Firmino as well as £40m from Newcastle United for Joelinton.
Baumgartner has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the German club this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.
Borussia Dortmund 'could be forced to lower Jadon Sancho demands'
Borussia Dortmund could reportedly be forced to lower their asking price for Manchester United target Jadon Sancho.
The former Manchester City youngster was the talk of the summer transfer window regarding a move to United, but he stayed put at the Westfalenstadion after the Red Devils failed to stump up Dortmund's £108m asking price.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are expected to reignite their interest in the England international this summer, and they are reportedly set to be joined by Chelsea and Liverpool in the race for his services.
According to Sport1, Dortmund's significant financial losses in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic could force the Bundesliga giants to demand a lower fee for Sancho.
The report claims that Dortmund know the sale of Sancho will be a huge help in their attempts to balance the books, but they realise that no club is likely to shell out a nine-figure sum in the current economic climate.
The attacker endured a slow start to the 2020-21 campaign, but he nevertheless boasts six goals and 13 assists across all competitions for Edin Terzic's side this term.
