Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester City

Man United injury, suspension list vs. Man City

Manchester United will be bidding to make it nine straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils made it eight victories in a row when they beat Charlton Athletic 3-0 on Tuesday to advance to the semi-finals of the EFL Cup.

Erik ten Hag's side have also won their last four in the Premier League, which has left them in fourth spot in the table, four points behind second-placed Man City.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Man City, who are five points behind division leaders Arsenal.

Jadon Sancho

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Fitness Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Man City)

Jadon Sancho again missed out against Charlton on Tuesday, with the attacker recently undergoing an individual fitness programme, and he remains a major doubt for the Manchester derby.

Axel Tuanzebe

Status: Out Type of injury: Unknown Possible return date: Unknown

Axel Tuanzebe has stepped up his recovery from a long-term injury problem, but the centre-back remains on the sidelines for the 20-time English champions.

Donny van de Beek

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Donny van de Beek had to be substituted against Bournemouth earlier this month after suffering a serious knee injury. Man United are yet to provide an official update on the issue, but there are fears that the Dutchman will be out for the rest of the season.

Diogo Dalot

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: January 14 (vs. Man City)

Diogo Dalot was replaced in the first half of the 3-0 win over Charlton on Tuesday after appearing to tweak his hamstring, but Ten Hag said that the substitution was 'a precaution'. As a result, there is a chance that the right-back could be available for the Manchester derby.
