Good afternoon! Thank you very much for joining Sports Mole for the final match of gameweek four in the Premier League as two of the four remaining unbeaten sides go head to head. Swansea did the double over Manchester United last season, and Garry Monk will be looking to make it three wins from three against Louis van Gaal with another victory in South Wales today. Let's start with a look at the team news...

Just the one change for Swansea, then, but it is a significant one as Jefferson Montero, who has been excellent so far this season, misses out with a thigh injury sustained in training. The winger gave Ivanovic and Janmaat torrid times in the first two games of the season, with the latter being sent off in the first half of that match having been unable to cope. His absence is a big blow for Swansea, but they have decent strength in depth in their squad and Routledge comes in to replace him on the left.

There have been a number of standout performers already this season for Swansea, and right up there is Bafetimbi Gomis. There were questions as to whether he had the ability to replace Bony when the Ivorian left for Manchester City, but he has been in fabulous form both this season and towards the tail end of last term too. He has three in three so far this campaign and eight in his last nine Premier League outings for the Swans. Another goal today would see him become the first ever Swansea player to score in each of their first four games of a Premier League season.

He has been receiving good support from those behind him, with Ayew in particular hitting the ground running since his summer arrival. He has two goals to his name already and could have made it three in three against Sunderland last time out, only to see his header come back off the post. He has had a number of clear headed chances already this season, which suggests that his movement inside the box is very hard for defenders to pick up on. He also showcased skill and composure with his goal against Chelsea on the opening weekend, so all the signs so far have been good from the new boy.

Sigurdsson is yet to really hit his top form this season, but he has shown flashes of his undoubted class, including a brilliant effort that hit the woodwork against Newcastle. Shelvey has been influential in midfield too, creating 13 goalscoring chances in the opening three games alone - more than any other player in the Premier League this season. He is joined once again by Cork in midfield today, with the fit-again Ki Sung-yueng, who scored in both games against United last season, on the bench.

As for United, they make two changes to the side that thrashed Club Brugge in Belgium on Wednesday night, with Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger returning in midfield. It looks like those two will be the first-choice midfield partnership this season, although it has been something of a job share between Carrick and Schweinsteiger so far. Once the latter gets back to full match fitness, though, it is expected that Carrick will see less game time. He drops to the bench from that midweek Champions League fixture.

Adnan Januzaj is the other player to miss out for United having picked up a hip injury in the midweek win, which sees Herrera push further forward into the number 10 role. The Spaniard struggled a little in a deeper role against Club Brugge but was moved forward for the second half and ended up having a big influence on the match. Not only did he set up Rooney's second goal, he also got on the scoresheet himself and earns himself another start as a result. Incidentally, Fellaini is included in a domestic squad for the first time this season having missed the first three games through suspension.

Herrera joins Mata and Memphis in the trio just behind the striker, and once again it is Rooney who leads the line. The skipper has been questioned this season, but answered his critics in style with a hat-trick against Brugge. It could have been more for Rooney as well, but he would have been delighted to end a 10-match, 878-minute goal drought, his longest barren spell since 2007. He needs to transfer that form to the league, though, as he has gone nine Premier League games without finding the back of the net. Only once before - at the start of his Everton career between August and December in 2003 - has he gone 10 league games in a row without a goal.

Defensively is where United have shone so far this season, and it is no surprise to see the same back five named again. De Gea remains out in the cold while the transfer window is still open, but Romero has begun his Premier League career with three clean sheets - the last keeper to do that for four games in a row was Anders Lindegaard in 2011. The back four have all impressed so far this season, and the only goal United have conceded in any competition so far was an own goal. No opposition player has yet scored past them in 2015-16.

That is the task facing Swansea today, but they won't be intimidated by United's impressive defensive statistics. Garry Monk's side have made a very positive start to the season and will fancy their chances against any side right now. They couldn't have been handed a tougher start to the campaign, drawing champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but they came away from that one with a very good 2-2 draw, and they could have even won it after Courtois was sent off. Considering how impressive the Blues were defensively last season, particularly at home, United's clean sheet record is unlikely to faze today's hosts.

They followed that Chelsea draw up with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Newcastle United, but last time out was their first disappointing result of the season. Sunderland had started the campaign in woeful fashion but managed to hold the Swans to a draw at the Stadium of Light which, while not being a disastrous result, was a match Monk would have expected to win considering how both sides had begun the season. Gomis was on the scoresheet again, and they came close to winning it when Ayew hit the post, but they were forced to settle for just a point in the end.

They did return to winning ways in the League Cup on Tuesday night, though, cruising past League Two side York City to progress to the third round. Dyer, Grimes and Emnes were all on the scoresheet in a 3-0 victory at the Liberty Stadium, meaning that in two home games so far this season Swansea have scored five goals and are still yet to concede.

Indeed, they have only lost one of their last six home games in all competitions, while the only matches they lost in the league here last season came against sides who finished in the top seven of the table. Of course, United do fall into that category, which could give them some hope, but Swansea are a difficult team to beat in front of their own fans - as the Red Devils found out themselves last term.

Despite that, they have not managed to win consecutive Premier League home games since November 2014, so the Liberty is not exactly a fortress for them. Their home record wasn't particularly bad last season, but if they are to improve upon their best-ever finish of eighth in the table, achieved in 2014-15, then they will probably need to improve in front of their own fans too. The signs are positive so far, but they must keep that form up now.

Swansea could make a small slice of history this afternoon as they go in search of a fourth consecutive unbeaten match at the start of a top-flight season for the first time. Of course, they haven't spent much of their time in the highest division throughout the years, but it would be another sign of their continual improvement since they did make it into the big time, which has seen them firmly establish themselves as a top-half team. Indeed, their sights may be set higher than that this season, with Europe considered a realistic goal for Garry Monk's men.

Victory today would move the Swans up level with Leicester in third, with the Foxes, Manchester City and United the only remaining unbeaten teams alongside them this season. However, despite the encouraging start, they have only won one of their last five league games stretching back to last season, while only one of their last 12 home Premier League games on a Sunday has seen them pick up maximum points.

United will certainly not be underestimating them today, though. Van Gaal is still bidding for his first victory over Monk, who provided the opposition in his very first competitive match in charge of the Red Devils. They lost 2-1 at Old Trafford on that occasion, but he will be looking to put that right in what is his 50th match in charge of the club this afternoon. His side have made a somewhat underwhelming start to the season in the league, but they remain unbeaten and would keep within two points of Man City with another win today.

United's season kicked off with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tottenham, a result that came courtesy of an own goal, while they needed a deflected strike from Januzaj to get past Aston Villa by the same scoreline. Their woes in front of goal were highlighted more than ever last weekend when, despite dominating at home to Newcastle, they couldn't find a breakthrough and came close to actually losing the match on a couple of occasions. That increased calls for a new striker to be brought into the club, but Van Gaal has remained insistent that he doesn't need one.

In fairness to the Dutchman, his argument was backed up in midweek when United put Club Brugge to the sword in the Champions League, running out 4-0 winners in Belgium to seal a 7-1 aggregate victory and book their place in the group stages. As already mentioned, Rooney was under fire going into that game, but he fired in a hat-trick and squandered another really good chance for a fourth. It should have been even better for United too, but Javier Hernandez in particular was guilty of missing a couple of glorious openings late on, firing wide from the penalty spot before ballooning a sitter over the top from close range.

It was a much improved performance from United, but the challenge for them now is to transfer that cutting edge into Premier League matches. No team has scored fewer than them in the top flight this season, and one of the two goals they have scored was an own goal. They have failed to score in three of their last five Premier League away games while, home or away, they have only scored more than once in one of their last nine league outings - a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on May 9.

There is certainly improvement to be made up front, then, but United couldn't have started the season any better in a defensive sense. They are one of only two teams yet to concede in the league, alongside local rivals Man City, while no opposition player has yet scored past them in any competition - Carrick's own goal in the Champions League is the only time that Romero has been beaten so far. Should they prevent Swansea from scoring this afternoon then they would have kept four consecutive clean sheets at the start of a Premier League season for only the second time, with the first coming in 1997-98.

They already have clean sheets in their last four league games stretching back to last season, while their unbeaten streak is now six games. Not only have they kept clean sheets, but they have also done very well to protect Romero from even having many saves to make - something that was certainly not the case for De Gea last season. United have faced just five shots on target in the Premier League this season, which is the fewest in the division.

United already have an away win under their belts this season, which is a significant improvement on last term. It took Van Gaal until November to get his first away league win as United boss when they beat Arsenal, and they ended the season with just the seventh best away record in the division. If they can sort that out then they will a lot closer to launching a title challenge this time around.

PREDICTION: We're 10 minutes away from kickoff at the Liberty Stadium, which means that it is time for a prediction! Swansea have been the more impressive of these two sides so far this season despite being lower than United in the table. However, that Champions League victory in midweek should give the likes of Rooney plenty of confidence, which makes this one a little tougher to call. It really could go either way, but I'm going to shoot down the middle and predict a 1-1 draw.

As mentioned, it is Swansea who have had the better of the recent meetings between these two sides, winning three of the last four meetings, all of which have been by a 2-1 scoreline. They were the only team to do the league double over United last season, while the Red Devils have only won two of their 12 league games at Swansea, drawing three and losing seven of those - a very surprising record considering the history of the two clubs.

The corresponding fixture last term saw Ki and Gomis both get on the scoresheet as the Swans came from behind, cancelling out an Ander Herrera strike for United. That win came back in February, while Ki and Sigurdsson were the names on the scoresheet either side of a Rooney goal on the opening day of last season at Old Trafford.

The players are out and we're just about ready to go at the Liberty Stadium in the final Premier League match before both the transfer window closes and the international break.

KICKOFF: Here we go then! United get us back underway as both of these sides look to maintain their unbeaten starts to the new Premier League season.

Very bright start from United as they get right on the front foot, penning Swansea into their own penalty area in the opening seconds. They win a free kick in a very dangerous position...

SAVE! Memphis takes the free kick and fires it in low towards the goalkeeper's side, but Fabianski gets down well to push the ball away.

SHOT! This really has been a quick start from the visitors. They stream forward again, with Memphis feeding it in to Rooney, who flicks it back for Mata. However, the Spaniard lashes his effort off target.

Better from Swansea as they are able to get hold of the ball and keep it for a sustained period of time. Routledge makes one darting run forward, but Darmian is across with him to prevent him from latching on to a through-ball.

Good pressure from Swansea, who are looking to defend high up the field as they always like to do. They are chasing down United's defenders when the visitors are in possession, which is preventing Van Gaal's side from stringing many passes together.

Indeed, both sides are struggling to keep hold of the ball for a sustained period at the moment. The match has started at a good tempo, but most of the play is coming in the middle third.

Very harsh decision from Martin Atkinson as Williams goes in hard on Schweinsteiger, but gets the ball. A few years ago that would have been deemed a very good tackle, but nowadays you see it penalised more and more, which is a shame.

Neither side has really been on top in this opening 15 minutes or so, with the exception of that bright start from United. Still no clear chances to report at either end of the field.

These two teams are both wrestling for control of this match right now. United have enjoyed 70% of the possession, but not much of that has come in dangerous areas. Swansea do need to start keeping the ball better, though.

It's all a little frantic at the moment. Neither side look completely in control when they are in possession, although United do really well to keep it in the Swansea third here, eventually winning a corner.

Super defending from Williams. Shaw sends a lovely pass around the defence that takes one Swansea defender completely out of the game, and Rooney races on to it. He turns down the chance to hit it first time, instead looking to nick it inside Williams, but the Swansea skipper makes a vital challenge.

CHANCE! The clearest chance of the match so far falls to United, and Mata really should do better. Memphis cuts inside from the left and feeds the ball in to Herrera, who spins on it before helping it along to Mata. The Spaniard has a yard of space but drags his shot tamely wide of the near post.

SHOT! Swansea haven't had many shooting chances so far, so they can't afford to waste them when they do arrive. Shelvey finds Ayew with a pass despite being on the floor, and the winger's clipped ball over the top gets the better of Blind to send Gomis through on goal. He snatches at his shot, however, lashing it well wide of the near post.

CLOSE! Huge chance for Swansea to take the lead! Shelvey shows some quick-thinking to slide an early free kick through towards Gomis, but it is Schweinsteiger's foot that just pokes it through for Sigurdsson. He is in space inside the box, but sends his low effort trickling inches past the far post.

CHANCE! Another chance for Swansea as Romero almost gifts them a goal. His kick out is poor and straight to Shelvey, but the former Liverpool man can't get enough power on his volley to loop it over the keeper.

OFF THE POST! It is all Swansea at the moment, and they come within inches of breaking the deadlock. It is magnificent play from Gomis, who spins away from two defenders, takes it past one more inside the box and then gets the shot away with the outside of his boot while stretching for it. Romero is beaten, but the shot comes back off the post. So unlucky for Gomis.

United have dominated possession in this opening 30 minutes, but it is Swansea who have come closest following that flurry of chances. There is still a good tempo about the game, and it is shaping up very nicely indeed.

Half a chance for Rooney as he tries to get a toe to a looping ball into the box, but he gets too much on the ball and sends it well over the crossbar.

The kicking of both keepers has been a little suspect so far today, with Romero mis-hitting another one here. He is not punished again, but it has been a problem for him in this first half.

CHANCE! Another half-chance for United and Rooney, with Herrera able to find space to pull the strings in that number 10 role. He slides a clever pass through to his skipper, but Rooney goes for a chip which is straight into the arms of Fabianski.

SHOT! Herrera goes for goal himself here as Schneiderlin breaks forward from midfield before playing a square pass to the Spaniard. He lines up an effort from around 25 yards on his left foot, but drags it wide of the target.

Almost a shooting opportunity for Swansea as Routledge receives the ball in a bit of space just outside the box, but Shaw is quickly out to him and makes a block.

YELLOW CARD! The first card of the game is shown to Schneiderlin for a mistimed sliding challenge on Cork.

Romero hasn't looked entirely convincing today, it must be said. The conditions are tough for a keeper, with the rain coming down, but he almost gifts Swansea a goal when needing two attempts to collect a high Shelvey free kick.

YELLOW CARD! Memphis also goes into the book for dragging back Naughton, who won the ball from the winger before looking to get forward straight away.

YELLOW CARD! Routledge quickly follows Memphis into the book for a very similar offence, pulling Darmian back having been dispossessed by the United defender.

There will be just the one added minute at the end of this first half.

No goals in the opening 45 minutes at the Liberty Stadium, then, but it has been quite an entertaining match so far. Both Swansea and Manchester United have looked to play at a decent tempo and, while the visitors have enjoyed more of the ball, it is Swansea who have come closest to breaking the deadlock.

Bafetimbi Gomis was the man to have the chance, showing good strength and skill inside the box to turn past two United defenders. He then beat another to create a chance to shoot, stretching for the ball and turning it towards the bottom corner with the outside of his boot. Romero was well beaten, but the ball clipped off the post.

That came during a purple patch for Swansea, and Sigurdsson wasted arguably the best chance of the game so far having seen the ball break to him in the area. It was a low free kick zipped in by Shelvey that Schweinsteiger got a toe to, only succeeding in poking it through to Sigurdsson. The Swansea man turned his shot narrowly past the far post, though.

United's best chance of that first half fell to Mata, but the Spaniard seemed concerned with the Swansea players closing him down and bottled his shot a little. He dragged it wide of the near post when very well placed, with two white shirts looking to throw themselves in the way of the ball, causing Mata to shorten his follow-through.

Rooney and Herrera have both also had efforts on goal in that opening 45 minutes, but United's control over the match waned a little as the half wore on. They began really brightly, creating a couple of openings in the first three minutes, and dominating possession during the early stages. They were moving the ball quickly and confidently, but Swansea were able to gain a foothold in the game with a string of chances in quick succession.

KICKOFF: Swansea get us back underway at the Liberty Stadium. No changes for either side at the interval.

Blind almost puts United in trouble with a sloppy pass across the defence that Routledge is quick to pounce on. Darmian is forced to make the foul in order to prevent the winger racing through.

First blood goes to United, and it is a poor goal to concede from Swansea's perspective. Shaw makes a bright burst down the left before clipping a cross intended for Rooney at the near post. It skims beyond him, however, and somehow makes it all the way through to Mata, who slams it into the roof of the net from close range at the back post. Williams was slow to react there, but that is Mata's 50th goal in English football.

SAVE! Williams was partially at fault for the goal, and he almost scores an own goal just a couple of minutes later! A low ball arrived into the box from the right and Williams, while going to clear it, almost slices it over his own keeper. However, Fabianski is alert to the danger and just about manages to claw it away.

Important piece of defending from Schweinsteiger as he manages to get something on a vicious, whipped Shelvey delivery. Ayew was lurking behind the German, so it was a vital interception.

Fernandez is almost caught out by the strength of Memphis, with both players wrestling for the ball. Fernandez takes a tumble and, for a moment, it looks like the ref will allow play to continue, but he eventually blows up when Rooney also comes on the scene.

The microscope has been on Rooney recently, but the United skipper has struggled again this afternoon. He has barely made an impact on this game, touching the ball fewer times in the first half than any of his teammates - Romero included.

SWANSEA SUB: A first change of the afternoon for Swansea sees Ki Sung-yeung makes his return from injury, replacing Routledge.

CHANCE! Another good chance for Mata, who is finding pockets of space inside the Swansea half. This time he pops up down the left channel to get on the end of a reverse pass, but the angle is against him and Fabianski makes the save.

Swansea have the equaliser as Andre Ayew becomes the first opposition player to score past United this season with his third goal of the campaign. Williams sparks the move by striding out from defence with the ball before feeding it out to Sigurdsson on the right. He stands the ball up into the middle, and Ayew attacks it to plant a header past Romero.

Swansea are looking for a quick second as they come flooding forward once again. Ayew looks to turn provider this time by laying the ball off for Shelvey, but the pass is a little too hard and Shelvey can only blaze it well off target.

This one is very finely poised right now. Swansea have been impressive again, but United also look dangerous when going forward. This could go either way.

What a turnaround from Swansea! They take the lead at the Liberty Stadium, and it is Gomis who grabs a fourth goal in as many games this season. Ayew is the creator this time around, playing a brilliant pass around the defence with the outside of his boot that Gomis races on to. He doesn't quite catch his shot towards the front post right, but Romero lets it sneak past him and it trickles over the line! The Liberty is bouncing!

What can United respond with now? They have had their chances in this game, mainly through Mata, but the likes of Rooney and Memphis need to get themselves more involved if they are to get themselves back into the game.

MAN UTD SUBS: Interesting double change from Van Gaal as Mata and Schneiderlin are withdrawn in favour of Ashley Young and Michael Carrick. I can't imagine Fellaini will be far behind them if things stay like this...

It will be interesting to see how Swansea approach this final 20 minutes or so now. They will naturally be more defensive than they have been but, with the likes of Ayew, Ki, Gomis and Shelvey, they still have the tools to hurt United on the break.

A hint of an opportunity for United as Young earns himself a yard down the right before standing a cross up into the middle. Memphis looks interested in it, but he can't get a clean connection with his header and it is easy for Fabianski.

MAN UTD SUB: The third United change arrives as Van Gaal switches to plan B - Marouane Fellaini. He replaces Herrera. Cue the aerial bombardment.

The pressure is starting to build on the Swansea defence now. Gomis looks knackered up front for Swansea, which means they don't really have an outlet up front at the moment. It may be backs-to-the-wall stuff in this final 12 minutes.

YELLOW CARD! Swansea make a break forward before cutting back on themselves and keeping the ball well. United then stop while expecting the flag to be raised against Ayew, allowing the ball to be played out towards Shelvey, who is flagged offside, although the replays show that he was on. He gets a yellow for kicking the ball away.

SWANSEA SUB: Gomis has looked tired in the last five minutes or so and he departs here to be replaced by Eder.

The long balls forward to Fellaini have not quite worked so far. The Belgian has won a few aerial balls, but the majority have been too deep to make a difference, while Schweinsteiger has just sent one into the arms of the keeper.

Time is really starting to run out for United now! No doubt there will be renewed calls for a striker to be signed if things stay like this. Rooney has been ineffective and they should really have a better second option than sticking a tall midfielder in attack.

CHANCE! Brilliant, brilliant defending from Williams to deny Rooney. The United skipper looked to be clean through on goal after he did magnificently to take the ball down, hold off Williams and slip it past Fernandez. However, he just holds on to it for a fraction too long, allowing Williams to recover and get a foot in. Rooney wants a penalty, but it was superb defending.

SWANSEA SUB: Monk makes his final change of the match as Kyle Bartley replaces Shelvey.

Swansea are working so hard here. The fans inside the Liberty are really enjoying what they are seeing at the moment, but they won;t have many fingernails left at this rate! United are putting the pressure on here!

Huge result for Swansea as they hold out for their third consecutive win over Manchester United, making them only the sixth team in Premier League history to achieve that feat. They remain unbeaten in the Premier League this season, but United fall to their first loss as Swansea again emerge 2-1 victors. They move into the top four as a result and look like being a real force this season.

All of the goals arrived in the second half this afternoon, with United breaking the deadlock just four minutes after the interval. Juan Mata got the goal, stealing in at the back post to fire it into the roof of the net. Swansea responded shortly after the hour mark, however, with Ayew nodding home Sigurdsson's cross to restore parity, and they completed the turnaround five minutes later when Gomis beat Romero at his near post.

Ayew and Gomis were once again amongst the standout performers for Swansea, who also hit the post through the latter in the first half. The majority of United's chances fell to Mata, with the likes of Rooney and Memphis failing to have a big impact on the game. Rooney did look like having one great opening towards the end of the match, but a magnificent piece of defending from Williams prevented the skipper from ending his Premier League drought.
