Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal: 'Luke Shaw out for a minimum six months'

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal expects Luke Shaw to miss a minimum of six months following his horror injury at PSV Eindhoven.

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has confirmed that left-back Luke Shaw will be out of action for a minimum of six months.

The 20-year-old suffered a double leg break in the 2-1 Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven earlier this month, an injury which required two separate operations to repair.

"He will be out at least six months. You can't predict the development of the rehabilitation," Van Gaal is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"There's always more - and then he has to get fit."

As a result of his horror injury, the former Southampton graduate, who joined the Red Devils for £29m last summer, is also expected to miss England's Euro 2016 campaign.
