Antonio Valencia undergoes foot surgery

Manchester United reveal that Antonio Valencia has undergone surgery on the foot injury sustained in last month's derby against Manchester City.

Manchester United have confirmed that Antonio Valencia has undergone an operation on his foot.

The 30-year-old has not featured for the club since the goalless draw against local rivals Manchester City last month, when he was forced off with just nine minutes remaining.

United have not yet revealed how long the Ecuadorian is expected to be sidelined for, but confirmed that he has been forced to have surgery on the problem.


United currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and will take on Watford at Vicarage Road after the international break.
