Hull City vs. Man United: Teams confirmed for Premier League showdown as Marcus Rashford receives new squad number

Rashford hint! Man Utd confirm starting team vs. Hull as squad numbers are revealed

Manchester United and Hull City have confirmed their starting teams for Saturday's 2026-27 Premier League contest at the MKM Stadium.

There are Man United debuts for Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos, with the pair selected in the middle of the Red Devils midfield for the team's league opener.

Fellow new signing Karl Darlow, meanwhile, makes the bench.

Amad Diallo is a notable absentee, with an injury problem ruling the Ivory Coast international out, so it is Bryan Mbeumo, Bruno Fernandes and Patrick Dorgu behind Matheus Cunha.

Benjamin Sesko did not play a single minute in pre-season, with the striker recovering from the shin problem that he suffered towards the end of last term.

However, Sesko is named on a strong bench which also includes Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, Shea Lacey, Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.

Rashford confirmed as Man United's new number nine

Rashford has been handed a new squad number ahead of this match, with the England international confirmed as Man United's number nine - a major hint that he will be staying this summer.

Lacey is another player to change his number, moving from 46 to 31.

Meanwhile, JJ Gabriel has been handed the number 77 shirt; summer arrival Tynan Thompson is Man United's new number 27.

Mason Mount, Matthijs de Ligt and Manuel Ugarte miss out alongside Amad on Saturday through injury, while a deal for Carlos Baleba has not yet been completed, but the Cameroon international is set to arrive from Brighton & Hove Albion in the near future.

As for Hull, Oli McBurnie, as expected, will lead the line, while summer signings Konstantinos Tzolakis, Nobel Mendy and Elliot Stroud will debut from the first whistle.

Hull: Tzolakis; Mendy, Egan, Ajayi; Coyle, Crooks, Slater, Giles; Stroud, McBurnie, Belloumi

Subs: Phillips, Millar, Hjerto-Dahl, McNair, Drameh, Herrington, Targett, Dowell, Gourna

Man United: Lammens; Mazraoui, Maguire, Heaven, Shaw; Santos, Tielemans; Mbeumo, Fernandes, Dorgu; Cunha

Subs: Darlow, Dalot, Martinez, Yoro, Mainoo, Lacey, Rashford, Sesko, Zirkzee
