Quartet to miss Manchester United's trip to Chelsea

Manchester United will be without Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones for Saturday's trip to Chelsea.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that he is short of defensive options for his side's match at Chelsea on Saturday evening.

Defensive trio Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Phil Jones are all missing for the trip to Stamford Bridge, while midfielder Michael Carrick is also sidelined by injury.

Van Gaal is without Jonny Evans, who remains banned after spitting at Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse, but left-back Luke Shaw has been passed fit to return to the team.

United currently sit in third position in the table, eight points behind Chelsea who head the standings.
